Projects that make a difference:
We are proud to be associated with
projects that have had a significant impact on our region. Pictured
here is one of the shopping areas in Broadway At The Beach, a $250
million dollar entertainment and shopping complex located on a 350
acre site in the heart of Myrtle Beach. It has more than 75 retail
stores, 11 restaurants, a $30 million dollar aquarium, and a 23-acre
man made lake. The developer, Burroughs & Chapin Company, selected A.
O. Hardee and Son, Inc. as the site work contractor. We built the
roads, parking lots, and did the remaining site work. Roads include
the Central Parkway, a 4 lane highway linking 21st and 29th Avenue.
The parking lot has the distinction of being deemed the largest
single-level parking lot in the world. This complex attracts millions
of visitors each year, and has had a beneficial effect on the region's
booming tourism economy. It is a winner of the South Carolina
Governor's Cup Award, for the State's Best Travel Destination.
